PT-141

Bremelanotide (commonly called PT-141) is a synthetic peptide that works as a melanocortin receptor agonist in the brain.
Its main effect is on sexual arousal pathways, where it can increase libido and sexual responsiveness in both men and women by acting on central nervous system receptors rather than directly on blood flow.
It was originally developed from melanocortin research and is also used medically (in some countries) for certain forms of hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) in women.
